SWD Events scheduled for Wednesday 21 February 2018

Twilight Race Sydney

Time: Wed February 21, 5:00 pm to Wed February 21, 7:30 pm

More than 100 yachts compete each week in the popular Club Marine Wednesday Twilight Series (non spinnaker division) out of CYCA. 

This is a great opportunity to get involved with SWD's program. The emphasis is on fun, meeting other SWD members and volunteers and improving sailing skills.

Boat call is at 5pm.  The boat leaves at 5:30pm on the dot.  The meeting place is changable, please check with the volunteer crew co-ordinator .

Please remember if you are crew to bring the requirements outlined in the SWD SOPS - knife, torch, electrical tape etc to enable you to participate.

We ask that you bring your own liquid refreshment of choice for during and after the race.

Winds of Joy - Hobart - AM

Sailors with disABILITIES offer a Winds of Joy Program which is designed to give children with disability and disadvantaged children and youth the opportunity to go sailing. Through our crew, SWD are able to provide positive role models, demonstrating that people with a disability do not have to be confined by it and creating optimism. This program is run entirely by volunteers and there is no cost to participants for this activity. Group bookings of minimum 10 with at least 8 with disability/special needs and a maximum of 3 wheelchairs including can be booked by school or community groups. If you are one of our authorised crew members and would like to crew, please follow the steps as per above and add your name to the crew list. All crew should register their intention at least 2 weeks prior to their intended sail and be at the boat 1 hour prior to the sail time listed for boat call.

WEEK 3 of 8 - The Winds of Change Youth Project opens a whole new world of challenge, skill development and discovery for young people who have disengaged from learning. By thinking beyond the usual classroom teaching methods, the Project offers a classroom of the future through the medium of sailing.

If you commit to WOCh a regular booking of 6 sessions out of 8 is preferred.

Wright of Passage - Woolwich - AM

Wright of Passage boat refurbishment at Woolwich Dock. If you are an official SWD volunteer who has been accepted to contribute to this project through our management team, to assist us in the smooth running and effective distribution of volunteer hours please log your intended hours on our booking calendar. Refurbishment will be carried out throughout the year and you are welcome to contribute all or part of those days available as agreed with the management team in advance.
