Northern Campaign 2012 and KAYLE Working Bee

Dear Members and Volunteers

SWD relies on your volunteer efforts and generous contributions to deliver our mission of helping people from different life situations to take ownership of their circumstances through changing their perception of who they are and what is possible.

The Northern Campaign 2012, despite moments of stress, was overall very successful in providing sailing experiences to over 600 children with only one cancellation during the entire programme.

My congratulations to Romesh Wijeyeratne for his efforts in skippering the whole programme often under stressful conditions of weather and staffing.  Romesh also gets our thanks for the best media presentations through facebook and YouTube, that we have ever delivered for a Northern Campaign, well done.

KAYLE has arrived back in excellent condition with no superficial or serious damage.  SWD thanks all volunteers who turned up to the working bee for the final clean up.  There were two working bees and an outstanding job was done by all.  David Pescud was also very pleased with everyone's efforts and the results received.

My congratulations to Lucy Reid who did an excellent job in crew co-ordination and management of the Northern Campaign resources.

Well done to the entire team it is a very big event on the calendar and takes everyone's contributions to make it so successful.

My congratulations and sincere thanks to all involved.

Yours sincerely,

David Leslie
