Prime Minister Turnbull on Making Waves Regatta

We are super excited that the Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, Member for Wentworth, commented on and shared our Making Waves Regatta story on his website.

Here is an excerpt from the story:

'Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, Member for Wentworth, has congratulated all involved in the inaugural Sailors with disABILITIES (SWD) ‘Making Waves Regatta’.

“I want to congratulate the winners and all participants for their tremendous effort, but I also want to acknowledge the hard work and support of everyone involved in making this event happen."

Earlier in March, businesses, NGOs, community groups and volunteers from across Sydney gathered at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia (CYCA) to take part in this much-awaited event.

Sailing from the CYCA, the first regatta held by the 23-year-old organisation helped raise essential funds for children with a disability, and those who face adversity across Australia.

This year SWD has welcomed more than 2,200 children on board its programs which operate up and down the east coast of Australia this year.'
