$23,000 to buy new sails, (Wright of Passage Mercator sails are at least 20 years old)
$31,000 to re-deck the boat with our trainees learning shipwright skills
Below decks, the trainees will rebuild the galley, the heads and the saloon
$500 for the stove to have hot meals on sail training days
$2000 for refrigeration for essential medication water and fresh food
$3000 to buy parts and install hot water system
$150 will install a toilet door (we have a swinging curtain at the moment)
$200 - $600 to repair the main saloon floor
$600 for materials to fit a table in saloon for on board training and learning
$125 gives a trainee the capability to learn to install cabin lights (we are using torches)
$2300 to restore and rebuild the navigation station
Currently our safety gear is loaned from other boats, we need to buy our own safety gear!
$6000 for safety equipment - life raft, personal beacons
$3600 to install a dedicated satellite phone
So far, we have managed without our own tools and equipment as we borrow from our volunteers
$10 donates a tool to the boat’s tool kit
$45 for each winch handle that is lost overboard!
$200 will buy sea a kit for our trainees – torches, etc
We also spend money on other skills and training opportunities.
$700 for sea survival training for each new trainee
$80 for first aid training for each new trainee
For each participant it costs $30,000 for specialist support training.
