Grace Sailing into Life's Challenges

Grace Kennedy continues to inspire young sailors as she sails on into life's challenges.

It seems that facing huge swells in the Rolex Sydney to Hobart this year has not put her off at all.

Grace is now back on the water glowing with confidence and passing on her skills to other young sailors.

You can see the full Channel 9 coverage of Grace here including a little emotional moment where David Pescud sheds a tear as he describes Grace as a 'legend'.

Ever Wondered Why David Pescud Does What he Does?

David Pescud

Put yourself in David Pescud's shoes in 1993.

You're 46. Thanks to your own hard work and business savvy (and despite profound dyslexia) you're financially bullet proof and able to retire.

You’ve just built a 50 foot yacht and you’re all set to take off for an idyllic life of cruising the oceans...

Sounds wonderful right?...

So why do you stop, take a massive U-turn, create a non-profit organisation called Sailors with disABILITIES and volunteer the next 20+ years of your life working tirelessly for it?

Inaugural Australia Day Cruise for Volunteers

At SWD we really appreciate that our busy volunteers need to chill out now and then.

And our Australia Day Cruise is the perfect opportunity to do just that.

In the words of SWD's Mary Bickley

"The Australia Day cruise is a lovely opportunity to catch up with some of our regular volunteers and hear how SWD is part of their lives.

It's also a great chance for these Creators of Change to meet each other and compare stories over a lunch and a beer."
